China hit by drought

Drought conditions in many parts of China are threatening the spring ploughing season, according to The Chinese Daily. Farmers from the south to the north are all being affected by the prolonged dry spell which began last autumn. Vast stretches of cropland are desperately parched due to inadequate irrigation from dry rivers and reservoirs, according to local media in the affected areas.
