The 2016 exports of Fruits & Vegetables generated far more income than other agricultural products (oils, dairy products).
Very satisfactory results for the 2016 exports of Fruit & Vegetables which generated much more income than other agricultural products, thus helping to improve the country's trade balance.
According to the data handled by INCOFRUIT-HELLAS, the exporters' association of Greece, the country drew about 1.9 billion euros of its exports of Fruits & Vegetables (fresh and processed) in 2016. Its exports of oils (681.3 million euros) or dairy products / eggs (592.85 million euros).
Exports of Fruits & Vegetables increased by 22.8% in volume and 11.1% in value compared to 2015 and now account for 32% of total agricultural exports.
On the other hand, imports have slowed down in 2016, consisting mainly of lemons, tropical fruits (pineapples, bananas, dates), apples and pears.
