Thanks to areas that have been steadily increasing for several years, Peru has recorded a significant increase in production and a sharp increase in exports. Currently Peru occupies the 3rd place of the largest exporters of mangoes.
In Peru mango production reached 350 000 tonnes during the 2017-18 season. Exports totaled 207 000 tonnes, 14% more than in the previous season. Peruvian mango is mainly exported as fresh fruit (60%), frozen (20%), pulp (5%) and juice (5%). %).
The main exports of fresh mango are Europe (68%) and the United States (25%). Other markets (Latin America, Asia) share the remaining 7%.
Peru ranks third for mango exports after overtaking Ecuador. Its competitors are Mexico, which is No. 1 and Brazil.
