The American organic sector has continued to rise, growing 9.5% in 2011 and surpassing $30 billion.
The American organic sector has continued to increase its sales in 2011.
According to the OTA (Organic Trade Association), the American organic sector has increased its sales by 9.5% to $31.5 billion in 2011. The non food sector accounts for $2.2 billion, while food and beverage sector reached $ 29.22 billion.
The organic food industry grew by $ 2.5 billion in 2011, the category of fruits and vegetables represented
nearly 50% of this increase. Growth in sales of organic food products (9.5%) continues to increase faster than conventional food products (4.7%).
