Fruit producers in Greece are in the heat of peaches and nectarines harvest. More and more popular among Greek growers is bio produce which is shipped most of all to Germany, Netherlands, Danemark and England.
One of the biggest Greek producers of peaches, nectarines and apricots is company Bioagros SA. Company was established in 1997 although its operations as a network of organic producers date from the early 1990s. The company, under the brand 'Bioagros' grows, packs and markets fresh organic fruit, vegetables throughout Greece and Europe. It has its own HACCP certified facility in Kria Vrissi, Pella that packs high quality organic products throughout the year according to European regulation 2092/91.
Company has a total of 30 employees, 2,5 million Euros annual sales and a sales growth of over 35% per year. Customers include Carrefour, Macro, Metro and the Delheize Group in Greece, Rewe Group in Germany and Tesco in the UK.
Presently Bioagros SA offers organic nectarines varieties: Aurillio and Ritastar and peaches Spring Lady.
