California's 2022 avocado crop expected to approach 139,000 tonnes

he California Avocado Commission's estimate of the 2022 avocado crop, which surveyed industry professionals, is expected to reach 138,799 tons.

 

California Avocado Commission announced its 2022 pre-season estimates, the avocado crop is expected to reach, depending on variety:

-Hass = 291 million pounds (131,995 tons)

-Lamb-Hass = 9 million pounds (4,082 tons)

-GEM = 5 million pounds (2,267 tons) 

-Other varieties = 1 million pounds (453 tonnes) 

TOTAL = 306 million pounds (138,799 tonnes).

The annual grower crop survey and acreage inventory survey will be conducted in spring 2022. An update of the mid-season estimates will be available during May 2022.
