Africa provides more fruit and vegetables to Russia
Trade between Russia and African countries has quickly grown in recent years and agricultural products are an essential element.
Africa is becoming a promising market for Russian cereals and agricultural machinery, including exports of wheat to Morocco, South Africa, Libya, Kenya, Sudan, Nigeria and Egypt.
We have also seen an Increase in volumes of Fruit and Vegetables exported to Russia by Egypt, Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, Central African Republic, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Mali.
Total revenue in 2016 reached USD 14.5 billion (12.9 billion €), an increase of USD 3.4 billion (3 billion €) compared to the previous year. Most of this amount -US $ 10.1 billion - (9 billion €) was realized with 4 countries: Egypt (4.16 billion USD), Algeria (3.98 billion USD), Morocco (1.29 billion USD) and South Africa (USD 718 million).
This upward trend has been observed in 28 of the 55 African countries, including Ethiopia, Cameroon, Angola, Sudan and Zimbabwe.
