The Singapore retailer provides recovered fruit and vegetables free of charge to communities in need.
FairPrice Group is redistributing more than eight tonnes of rescued fruit and vegetables every month through its Neighbourhood Food Share programme.
The produce is provided free of charge to communities in need across Singapore, according to a recent update published by the retailer.
FairPrice highlighted the programme as part of a wider group of initiatives aimed at improving access to nutritious food among vulnerable communities.
Since the fourth quarter of 2024, FairPrice Group and FairPrice Foundation have introduced several projects focused on nutrition access and education for people at different stages of life. These include food donation campaigns, fresh-protein distributions and nutrition programmes for children and seniors.
The Neighbourhood Food Share initiative adds fresh produce to these efforts by regularly redirecting rescued fruit and vegetables to people who can use them.
