Creating a "passport" to protect national production of potatoes.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture announced the creation of a "passport" for tomatoes. It will be recorded in an electronic registry: the location, the amount and the specificity of tomato productions. This information will allow to better regulate the quantities entering the market, reduce the excess supply and fight against illegal importation.
This initiative for identifying and protecting the Bulgarian output will be implemented this fall. The Ministry clarified that the entries in the electronic register will be free.
