The Ivory Coast wants to spend 10% of its budget in agriculture.

Next year onwards, the Ivory Coast will spend 10% of its budget in agriculture, its number 1 economic sector.

The agriculture Minister has confirmed that the Ivorian governement wants to spend 10% of its budget to agriculture from 2015.

 

After the long political crises that took place those last years, the Ivorian state started to rebuild its infrastructures. The budget given to agriculture (around 3% before the crises) will increase to 10% of the total Ivorian budget from 2015.

 

Agriculture is the major economic sector of the country, and contribute at 23% of the GDP. 

 

Many operations are put into place, such as NAIP (National agriculture investment program) at the national and regional level; and workshops for spreading technics, use of durable resources, and the biodiversity protection.
