The NEPG provides an average production this year due to exceptional drought.
The North-Western European Potato Growers has calculated that the area dedicated to potatoes has grown slightly (1.8%) compared to 2010 in the 5 NEPG countries. In France, there is an increase of 4% and 1.9% in the United Kingdom.
In Holland and Belgium, it was the hottest and driest spring in history. According to the NEPG, it is too early to make estimates of the crop, but due to drought and low crop for early potatoes, the crop should be average in 2011.
