This is also the case of varieties of mandarins Okitsu and Debashibeni. The export authorization date was several days earlier than last year.
Statistics obtained from the Mediterranean Exporters Union, coordinator for exports of Turkish fruit and vegetables at a national level, show that citrus exports increased significantly compared to last season, despite the problems with European borders and the Russian market is still very shy, despite the promises of purchase during the fair in Moscow.
Exports of lemons, which began on 2 September rose 80 percent in volume and 115 percent in value. It is Russia, which imported 22 percent of lemons, ahead of Iraq (20%) and Saudi Arabia (15%).
Exports of other citrus varieties have also greatly increased. But this is only the beginning of the season and exporters are cautious about the future market.
