The 2020 harvest is considered good in volume as in quality (Photo: nzkiwiberrygrowers).
In New Zealand, the hot, dry summer was good for orchards, and the fruit had minimal flaws. Industry professionals are planning a kiwiberry harvest similar to that of last year.
According to the NZ Kiwiberry Grower Association, the volume harvested this year should be similar to that of last year. The harvest started at the beginning of February and will last until the beginning of April.
The fruits are judged to be of excellent quality and good size. The 3 varieties (Tahi, Marju Red, Takaka Green) produced offer very different flavors.
In 2019, exports went to more than 18 countries. External demand remains at high levels and may not be fully met.
