Conad to acquire 43 Billa outlets

Conad accelerates its expansion with the acquisition of 43 Billa stores in 10 regions of Italy.
Conad is accelerating its development through the acquisition of 43 Billa stores from German group Rewe AG International.
Conad will buy seven hypermarkets and 36 supermarkets. These stores are located in 10 Italian regions (Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Sardinia, Tuscany, Umbria, Veneto) and cover an area of 74,195 m2.
The acquisition will allow the cooperative group Conad to increase its market share from 10.3 to 10.6%, reaching a turnover of 10.65 billion euros. The transaction was made by five of the eight member cooperatives (Commercianti Indipendente Associati, Conad Adriatico, Nordiconad, Conad del Tirreno, Pac2000A), brought together for the first time.
