Demand for Imported eggplants starts to go down in Poland
First eggplants have been imported to the domestic vegetables market of Poland quite early this year (beginning of October). Currently prices for eggplants delivered from Spain comprise around 1,0 – 1,2 EURO/kg. According to the local market analysts prices for this kind of vegetables are not high at the moment, but this doesn’t help the low demand for eggplants within whole sale market of Poland. The demand for eggplants is predicted to grow at the end of November – beginning of December 2013. Usually hot season for this kind of vegetables starts with the first frosts, when local consumers tend to buy more imported fruit and vegetables.
