frost, wind and drought have reduced potato production
The bumper harvest last year which allowed for the first time exports to Russia will not happen again this year.
Two-producing regions, the southeast and the Midlands have experienced frost, wind and drought with the recent rains coming too late. The harvest will be at least 10 to 15% lower than last year.
