Increase of the growing area of onions in The Netherlands

This year in The Netherlands, the growing areas of onions have been increased up to 10/12 %. In the north, the Flevoland area, the quality and quantities are good. If the good weather goes on, the harvest will be finished by the end of week 35. In the south, the Zeeland area, the quantities seem to be lower and the onions are smaller due to the weather. In the end, the quantities made in The Netherlands will be about the same as last year in spite of the rise of cultivated hectares.
