Restrain's online training course for the storage of potatoes
Restrain, Dutch manufacturer of solutions for the maintenance of low level ethylene gas in potato and onion storages, as well as tomato ripening on the vine, has recently launched online training course for existing and new clients.
John Hutchison, company’s Manager in the UK, said that immediate potatoes' processing treated with the Restrain technology is a benefit to storage operator and growers. The advantage of ethylene gas is that treated potatoes can be processed directly from the storage, which makes this system much cheaper compared to other CIPC alternatives, and more user-friendly. “The Restrain sprout inhibition solution is being applied by more than 1.500 growers and other customers in potato storage facilities in 38 countries around the world. More than 1.3 million tons of stored potatoes are being treated with our technology.”
An 8-language online course developed for the company's clients who, after placing an order, will be able to take this training course where they will learn how the Restrain system works. The course also gives information what storage managers should consider when using ethylene as a germination inhibitor.
The training course was specially designed for the 2020/2021 potato storage season. The aim of the training course is to educate and familiarize new and existing customers with the Restrain ethylene concept
The online training course is broken down into five modules: Introduction, Pre-start phase, Ethylene treatment, Storage management and Safety guidelines. In addition to textual information, a number of short, informative videos that explain the topics at hand in a practical, hands-on and user-friendly way supports each course module.
