Exports were down due to "strong" currency

Currently the dollar is far from promoting potato exports.

In the US , the volume of potato exports is declining. For fresh , volumes declined by 5 % and for frozen products the decline was 11% . Exports to Canada , the largest market for fresh US potatoes , fell by 18 %. Japan, the main buyer of US frozen potatoes, reduced its purchases by 23%.

The reason: the dollar hasbecome "strong" against other currencies which causes an effect of " price increase " for US exports .
