A regular summer fruit campaign

The European forum for summer fruit -Europech - which took place in Perpignan, France last April, forecasts a regular campaign for the Mediterranean basin's main countries. Concerning peaches/nectarines, Spain announces a 28% increase in production ; Greece, an 11% drop due to a virus ; Italy, a 19% increase in nectarines and France, +2% compared with 2001. For apricots, a back to normal is announced (553 000 tons in Europe). As for the melon production, it would be dropping slightly.
