Apples prices go down in Moldova

According to the local specialists, embargo for apples import from Moldova to Russia has caused sudden prices drop for apples within fruit market of Moldova. At the current moment, apples are available at 0,26 – 0,29 USDkg within domestic fruit market of Moldova. These numbers are 32% lower comparing to the last season prices, which comprised 0,36 -0,40 USDkg. Due to Moldavian farmers, price drop for fruits was inevitable considering loss of the main trade market. Based on the official data, most of the harvested apples are intended for export, 83% of exported fruits used to be delivered to Russian market.
