Significant drop in artichoke exports

Peruvian artichoke exports from January to December 2021 totaled 39,082,211 kilos worth $88,167,265. It is a significant drop from the 53,346,822 kilos exported in 2020 for $127,155,432, according to Agrodata report.

 

Worth to mention that Peruvian artichoke is mainly exported in a processed presentation: in pieces and in preserves.

 

The main destination market for these shipments in 2021 was the United States, with placements for $59,283,931, which constitutes 67% of total Peruvian shipments. Other destinations: Germany with $6,870,068 (8%), Spain with $6,209,380 (7%), United Kingdom with $4,848,882, Poland with $2,871,218 (3%), Saudi Arabia with $1,418,633, South Korea with $894,427, France with $874,160, Belgium with $767,350, Canada with $628,071, the Netherlands with $570,803, among others with smaller amounts that together accumulated $930,340.
