The progression of the disease Psa-V continues, to fight it, an antibiotic, used elsewhere on apples, gave encouraging results.
New orchards are affected by Psa-V.
The latest newsletter of KVH (Kiwifruit Vine Health) now counts 2,244 orchards identified positive for Psa-V. This brings the number of hectares allocated to 10124.
biotic, used in other countries for rice, vegetables and fruit, gave good résulats. KVH and New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers will try to encourage the use of this antibiotic. The antibiotic Kasugamycin (trade name Kasumin) was recently approved in Canada and the United States for the use on fruits and vegetables crops, including apples, to combat "Fire Blight".
