Italy joins a list of target destinations for Philippine mangoes, which already includes countries like Japan, South Korea, the UAE, and China.

For the first time, Philippine mangoes have officially landed on Italian shelves. Over half a ton was shipped from farms in Pangasinan, marking the country’s debut commercial export of the fruit to Italy, according to the Philippine Department of Agriculture.

This milestone highlights growing interest in Philippine mangoes across Europe. Despite limited experience with fresh produce imports, small Filipino businesses in Rome, supported by the Philippine Embassy and agricultural authorities, successfully introduced the fruit to the Italian market while meeting strict local regulations.
