These 2 fairs, for fresh produce and horticulture, have emerged as the most important events in the Middle East for these sectors.
The population of the UAE is steadily increasing and the number of tourists and business travelers continues to grow.
The population of the UAE is approaching 10 million and Dubai alone is expected to host more than 15 million visitors before the end of 2016. Imports of fruits and vegetables increased on average by 5.6% per year, from 2,27 billion USD in 2011 to 2,82 billiob USD in 2015.
On the other hand the growth in the construction sector, real estate and hotel business has strengthened imports of plants, flowers and trees with an average growth of 24.6% from 29.5 million USD in 2011 to USD 71.2 million in 2015.
For exporters in other countries the opportunities are significant and the demand will continue to grow. The dynamic expansion of the region indicates that this growth will continue in the coming years.
The 8th International Perishables Expo Middle East exhibition (WOP Dubai) will be held simultaneously with the 11th edition of International Plants Expo Middle East (IPM Dubai).
