Chinese asparagus production drops in 2005

Unfavourable weather conditions in April and May mean that China's asparagus crop could be as much as 30 percent lower than 2004. The 2005 harvest is expected to be around 400,000 tonnes. Exports are expected to remain the same as 2004, with less product available on the domestic market.
