Tomatoes production in increase

Tomatoes sector goes out of crisis with a record production this year. producers and transformers plan to export in 2015.
Algeria saw its tomatoes production for the industry almost doubled in one year.
According to a report of the Agriculture Ministry and the rural Development in mid-August, the production reaches 7 million quintals ( mq ) against 3,8 mq in 2009.
Quantities of transformed fresh tomatoes reached 216.860 tons.
With 50.000 tons of concentrated tomato produced during in the 2010 campaign, the sector is optimistic.
The industrialists could meet the national needs from 2011 (75.000 tons). They already plan to export from 2015.
