US absorbs 37% of Peru’s Tahiti lime exports as April prices climb

April recorded the highest average export price of the year so far.

Peru’s Tahiti lime exports reached US$29.57 million between January and April 2026, on shipments of 28.10 million kilos at an average price of US$1.05 per kilo, according to Agrodata.


Export value strengthened through the first quarter, rising from US$5.64 million in January to US$6.03 million in February and US$9.84 million in March. April shipments eased to US$8.06 million, but the average price increased to US$1.19 per kilo, the highest monthly level shown for 2026.


The United States was the main destination, accounting for 37% of total export value, or about US$11.0 million. Chile followed with US$4.54 million, ahead of the Dominican Republic at US$4.27 million and the Netherlands at US$3.22 million.


The UK purchased US$2.34 million, while Panama reached US$1.84 million. Smaller but notable destinations included Costa Rica, Canada, and Honduras.
