Logistics optimisation and strategic partnerships help the sector remain competitive in demanding markets worldwide.
Peruvian asparagus exports reached 3,710 containers (89,836 tonnes) by week 44 of this year, marking an 11% increase compared with the same period in 2024, according to local media. The growth is largely attributed to higher volumes shipped by sea and improved international logistics efficiency.
North America remains the top destination, absorbing 73% of total exports, followed by Europe with 25%. Both markets posted solid year-on-year increases, strengthening Peru’s position as a leading global supplier. Latin America, while still a smaller market, recorded a notable 17% rise, signalling new opportunities in emerging regional destinations.
Peru’s asparagus industry is reshaping its global supply routes through a clear shift toward maritime transport, logistics optimisation and strategic partnerships — measures that help the sector remain competitive in demanding markets worldwide.
