In the United States the Super Bowl is the sporting event of the year, followed by about 110 million viewers, many of whom consume guacamole.
PROMEXICO and HASS AVOCADO BOARD estimate that Mexican producers have sent 40,000 tons of avocados to the United States in the 15 days before the Super Bowl (final of the National Football League) which takes place on Sunday, February 4th.
This 52nd edition (LII) Super Bowl takes place in Minneapolis (Minnesota) and opposes the New England Patriots to Philadelphia Eagles.
The most watched sporting event in the United States, the Super Bowl is also an opportunity to meet. Americans are enjoying more and more guacamole and have made it the must for a successful evening.
Mexico produces more than 1,520,000 tonnes of avocados, accounting for 70% of the world's total crop. About 7 in 10 Mexican avocados are sent to the United States.
