MSC opens Asia route to inland Iraq via Türkiye
The routes provide access to several Iraqi cities.
Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has outlined logistics options designed to move cargo from Asia to inland destinations in Iraq via Türkiye, citing competitive transit times through its regional network.
The company said its Tiger and Phoenix services connect Asian ports with Türkiye, from where cargo can continue inland to Iraq using combined sea and land transport. Shipments can move through the Turkish ports of Mersin on the Tiger service and Iskenderun on the Phoenix route before being forwarded overland.
MSC noted that the routes provide access to several Iraqi cities, including Zakho, Dohuk, Mosul, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Baghdad, offering an alternative supply chain option amid the current security situation in the Middle East.
The services form part of MSC’s East-West standalone network linking Asia and the Mediterranean through six services, aimed at strengthening connectivity between the two regions and supporting cargo flows into inland Middle Eastern markets.
