The British Tomato Week

This Week Tomato wants to raise consumer awareness of domestic production.Various activities are planned with visits from producteurs greenhouses ; Schools across the country are organizing tomatoes tasting ; in all outlets millions of signs "Week Tomato " and labels Incorporating the distinguished British national flag tomatoes.

Tomato industry occupies an area of 200 hectares under glass or two times the area of all professional football fields. These 200 hectares under glass washing causes 4 million m2 of "windows " per year .

If all British tomato plants were lined up end to end , they would go 8 times around the Earth .
