Mercabarna, the Barcelona wholesale market, AGEM (Associació Gremial d'Empresaris Majoristes de Fruites i Hortalisses i Província) and the Port of Barcelona exhibit on a common stand, 4D03B.
Fruit Attraction is the ideal showcase to present Mercabarna, the Barcelona wholesale market which brings together 250 companies processing 2.1 million tons of fruits and vegetables, as the main platform for the import and export of fruits and vegetables, thanks to its strategic location and the wide range of products marketed by its wholesalers.
In addition, 13 wholesalers in the market have their own stand: Acuafruit (9A01E), Companie fruitière Espana (10G03), Cultivar (10D02), Fruits Ràfols (8E06), Frutas Diego Martínez (Pavelló 4 - Stand Prodeca Catalunya), Frutas E. Sánchez (10D01), Frutas Plasencia (8E02), Frutinter (3C06), GV Zamorano (10B01), Grupo Nufri (10E02), Hnos. Fernández López (10A01), Naranjas Torres (3C01), Torribas (10E05).
The port of Barcelona has amplified the intermodal offer and today a large part of the refrigerated products that are exported from the port area reach the docks by train. For example, the exclusive rail service for refrigerated goods Canal Frío which connects Zaragoza and Barcelona daily. Maritime connection has also been enhanced. New shipping lines have been launched which improve Barcelona's connections with different parts of the Mediterranean. Significant efforts have been made to coordinate customs and para-fiscal services which guarantee fast, reliable and efficient traffic through the Port.
