Exports increase entrained by the progression of vegetables

Spanish exports continue their progression, vegetables record one of the highest increases (+12%).

Spanish exports continue their upward trajectory.

Magrama (Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente) announces that the agro-food exports of the first half increased by 3%. At the same time imports declined, the trade balance is established to 20% compared to 2012.

The vegetables with +12%, record one of the largest increases, but far behind the exports of cereals (+44%). In the vegetable sector, tomato exports increased in volume and in value (44 896 tonnes this year, compared to 20,684 tonnes in 2011) as the exports of lettuce (24 168 tonnes this year against 5,962 tonnes in 2011) .

For the entire agro-food industry, the markets of EU countries received 77% of exports and those of third countries 23%.
