The Association of Chilean Fruit Exporters AG (Asoex) has taken steps to facilitate the construction of the Chile-Dalian fruit import corridor, aimed at streamlining the flow of Chilean fresh fruits, particularly in Northwest China and Asia. In this regard, ASOEX signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China's Dalian Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
The MoU was signed by Asoex's president, Iván Marambio, and the director of the Dalian Municipal Commerce Bureau, Li Hanguo, during a visit by representatives of the Dalian Municipal Commerce Bureau to Asoex offices.
Marambio stated that the agreement would help improve the reception and distribution of fresh Chilean fruits in the north and northwest regions of China. He also noted that it would help diversify the destinations within the Chinese market.
The MoU is expected to enhance support for Chilean fruit exports, especially cherries, so that they arrive in China and other regions such as Japan and South Korea on time and in appropriate condition. The "container + bulk + international transhipment" joint operation mode will be used. Furthermore, the agreement aims to promote the construction of a distribution center for Chilean cherries in northwest Asia. These measures will help strengthen the partnership between the two nations and expand Chilean fruit exports to new markets.
