Thermologistic opens its new warehouse at Frankfurt Airport
Thermologistic, an expert in air-conditioned transport, puts into operation its new warehouse in Kelsterbach at Frankfurt Airport.
The facility has an area of 4,000 m2 and temperature zones ranging from 0 to 25 °C. It is intended for the storage and transshipment of perishable goods, such as fruit, vegetables, plants and cut flowers. Due to the proximity to Frankfurt Airport, and the large warehousing capacities with the possibility to transship up to 2,000-euro pallets a day, the new facility will also operate as a distribution center. The new warehouse in Kelsterbach will be certified in accordance with ISO 9001: 2015 and IFS Logistics standards for cold storage warehouses throughout the year.
Bernd Schmied, CEO of Thermologistic, shared that the operation of the large cold storage facility near Frankfurt Airport adds a new business segment to the company's existing portfolio. “The ever increasing demand for logistics services, coupled with the lack of storage capacity (especially in times of a pandemic) made the decision for us to invest in this area an easy one," he added.
Thermologistic hopes that the expansion of its temperature controlled logistics services business will enable the company to significantly increase sales and strengthen its market position in the future.
In addition to the commissioning of the new warehouse, the specialist for temperature-controlled goods transport is also moving into new office space of about 300 m2, where the company's management will accommodate in the future. From here, Thermologistic intends to consolidate and manage its European activities using the latest digital technology.
