Sales of Moroccan tomatoes in the EU countries recorded a further increase, estimated at + 10.41% between 1 October 2018 and 31 May 2019.
According to various media reporting figures from the Statistical Service, Euroestacom (ICEX-Eurostat), the EU imported 426.07 million kilograms of tomatoes between 1 October 2018 and 31 May 2019 from Morocco. That is 10.41% more than the previous year when the volume reached 385.88 million tonnes.
In value terms, tomato imports from Morocco would reach € 481.17 million, 20.01% more than the previous year. Among the most important buyers of these Moroccan tomatoes are France (288.15 million kilos) and Spain 59.35 million kilos.
