Estimated decline of -7% for fruit exports

According to preliminary estimates of Fedefruta, the Chilean federation of fruit growers, the exports of fruits will register a decline.
Fedefrutta estimated to -7% Chilean fruit exports for the 2013-14 season (September to August) for a total of about 4154 million USD.
This decline is due to the frost that hit in the second half of September 2013, many cultures resulting in production losses. One of the most affected fruit was grapes reflecting a decline in shipments of -15% compared to the same period of the previous season, totaling only 725,103 tons, 135,000 tons less.
