IFORED announces 3 new red-flesh apples varieties

IFORED has announced 3 new red-flesh apples varieties with attracting look and taste to seduce consumers from allover the world.

During Fruit Attraction, IFORED has presented its project built with 14 biggest apples growers in the world. Varieties developped belong to the French company IFO (International Fruit Obtention), that owns a large catalogue of 3rd and 4th generation of red-flesh apples. This is a result of 20 years of research.

Following the launch of project back in 2012, new varieties have been planted in the pilot orchards for a sales evaluation. Just 3 new varieties have been chosed for the begiining of sales:

R201 : intense red skin, bright red flesh, taste with redfruits flavour.

Y101: orange skin, pink-red flesh, well balanced sour/sweet taste

Y102 yellow skin, pink flesh, nice taste quality, great shell-life

IFORED partners will manage production and trade on their own markets.

Today the production of these partners reach a total of 3 millions tons on 55.000 hectares spread in 13 countries.
