Floods: the consequences could last for 2 years

It is impossible to quantify the damages but professionals believe that the consequences risk to last from 18 months to 2 years.
England knows the worst flooding. Thousands of hectares of lands are under water and some areas are submerged for 8 weeks. Agricultural activities are disrupted for months.
The impact will be proportional to the time required for removal of water and the possibility of new plantations. Some also alarmed at the number of stocks of fuels and chemicals submerged, which could cause an ecological disaster.
The Prime Minister promised a £ 10 million aid to farmers and ranchers affected by floodsand promised to improve the management of watercourses. The necessary maintenance (desilting, dredging, cleaning ...) were no longer performed for 30 years.
