Dutch pip fruit producer will celebrate the 70th anniversary in March

 

A family run company with significant experience behind, based in Vleuten, Netherlands, is specializing in pip fruit production.

 

Aiming to supply fresh quality products at any time, of any quantity, to any location and at a competitive price they maintain good connections with other growers, cooperations, auctions, trading houses and with logistic service providers at home and abroad. Besides, the company has a high capacity of ULO-storage and a transport fleet and uses calibrating and packing machinery in their production process. 

 

Despite the pandemic-related problems in the Food Service and Gastronomy sectors, in 2021, Jan Oskam BV expects sales volume to increase due to constant advancement of production processes and infrastructure.

 

In the near future, Oskam will keep on investigating the apple variety Bonita, which is a result of the crossing of Crispp Pink and Topaz varieties. The main advantage of this one is its resistance to scab and other diseases. 

 

In 2020, the first 14.000 trees of this variety have been planted and are already recognized as the Pink Lady of the Netherlands. Among their other apple species there are Elstar, Jonagold, Red Prince, Royal Gala, Evelina, Boskoop, Golden Deli, Granny Smith, etc.

 

Concerning pears, their target will remain Alessia variety, which is a result of crossing of Decana de Comice and Red Williams. This one is forecasted to be planted in winter 2021-22. In the meantime, they offer a wide range of already known Conference, Lukas, Decana de Comice and Xenia varieties.
