Exceptional cold temperature in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile and Brazil

Cold temperature has hit several countries in Latin America where winter officially began on June 21st.
The cold has hit northern Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, northern Argentina and southern Brazil. Countries fear now a shortage of fuel. Electricity demand is expected to explode and cause many power outages.
Bolivia is touched by snowfall of about 30 to 40 cm. Temperature in Rio is 12 °and 8 ° in Sao Paulo.
Temperature dropped to -15 ° in central region of Argentina. Weather services are not expecting improvements for several days.
It is too early to estimate, but Argentine professionals expect serious damage on crops, same as 2007. Production of sugar cane, vegetables and citrus fruits will be severely affected.
