The battle sees 40,000 fighters compete using 120,000 kg of tomatoes as ammunition
The "Tomatina" tomato fight takes place today in the town of Bunol, near Valencia.
The battle "to laugh" has become famous over the the last sixty years and one of the events is the tomato fight, which is attracting more and more participants.
This year, Buñol expects 40,000 "combatants" for this battle. Ammunition (120 tons of tomatoes) is brought into the city by 5 trucks. The battle begins at 11am this morning.
