Peru has increased its agricultural areas which now occupy 30% of its territory.
More than 3 million hectares.
By presenting the results of the fourth national agricultural census, the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAGRI) has revealed that Agriculture occupies 38,742,000 hectares, or 30% of the country.
The areas for agricultural use increased by 3.32 million hectares over the past 20 years.
Products that occupy larger areas: coffee (425,000 hectares), potatoes (368,000 hectares), maize (261,000 hectares), rice (178 000 hectares), banana (146 000 hectares) , cocoa (145 000 hectares).
