A good year for the 75th anniversary of the IPC: production and quality are up and a book honouring the producers of Idaho is released.
The IPC, Idaho Potato Commission, is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
As the largest producer of potatoes in the United States, the state of Idaho has 130,000 hectares of potatoes and should harvest this year of 6 billion kilos. This production will be 29% for the fresh market, 62% to industry (frozen, dehydrated), and 9% for certified seed
.
In the year of its 75th anniversary, the IPC is pleased to see increasing production and quality. Idaho, which has a unique soil for growing potatoes and some remarkable producers.
