South African professionals expect an increase of 10 % for exports stone fruit .
The 2014/15 season of stone fruit exports looks higher than the previous season.
Area expansion and favorable climatic conditions have led to increased production and therefore higher exports. The 1st estimates show 17.5 million boxes of stone fruit to be exported to South Africa for the 2014/15 season. An increase of 10% compared to last year.
Hortgro , the Association of South African producers expects a growth of 15% for exports of nectarines and 10 % for exports of peaches and plums. Only apricots are down slightly with a rate of -1% expected.
