Quality is judged to be excellent for Cherries of Valle del Jerte

The harvests of cherries started in the appellation area of Valle del Jerte.

The quality is judged to be excellent, according to the latest forecast the production could reach 20 million pounds of cherries in the whole area.

Dans la région Valle del Jerte il se cultive plus de 100 variétés de cerises, mais pour la DOP seules 5 variétés sont  "Cerezas del Jerte”: "ambrunés", "pico limón negro", "pico negro", "pico colorado", "navalinda".

In the region Valle del Jerte more than 100 varieties of cherries are grows, but for DOP only 5 varieties "Cherries Jerte": "ambrunés", "pico limón negro", "pico negro", "pico colorado" "navalinda".
