Season starts for Turkish lemons

The 2015-16 season begins with cutting authorization on Sept. 15 and exports on Sept. 20 of varieties of the earliest lemons, Meyer and Interdonato . It began three days later than last season .

A good season is expected. In 2014-2015 , 445,000 tons were exported , about 6 percent more than the previous season to a lower value than 2 percent . Russia remains the largest importing country with 29 percent of the market , followed by Iraq and Saudi Arabia
