China conducts its first report on the agricultural outlook

A conference organized by IIA (Institute of Agricultural Information) and CAAS (Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences), held in Beijing in late April on Agricultural Outlook of the country.
The Director of the IIA institute presented the Agricultural Outlook (2014-2023) report, the first kind in China, which reflects the achievements made ??and attempts to predict trends. The country will face constraints: lack of land and water resources, adverse effects of climate change. According to the report, in the next decade, agriculture will enjoy the science and technological progress.
Constant upward trend for the next decade, the production is expected to increase at an annual rate of 2.3%. China will maintain a high level in its food self-sufficiency for certain products, the report forecasts a decline in imports of particular grains. For other products, the growth in demand will be slightly higher than the growth of production and imports will increase.
