The origin of this inflation is the drought that has been fatal to many agricultural products, particularly tomato.
The Israeli Minister of Agriculture, Shalom Simhom, plans to import tomatoes from abroad to bring down prices.
The duty of an ordinary shekel (0.2 €) on each kilos of tomatoes imported could be removed to encourage importers to source tomatoes on foreign markets.
